We have been supporting adults with learning disabilities to live their lives to the full as independently as they can for over forty years.
Established in 1980 at The Stables on the Bisterne Manor Estate near Ringwood to provide a safe and nurturing home to eight adults with access to beautiful walled gardens and outdoor spaces and a wide range of creative and therapeutic activities, we now support over 100 people each year through a range of different services.
We run our Day Services programme from three sites – Bisterne near Ringwood, Highcliffe in Christchurch and Southbourne in Bournemouth. Our person-centred programme of activities enriches the lives of adults with learning disabilities, offering them new experiences along with individual support to help them develop and improve their skills and confidence. Our main aim is enabling them to live more independent lives within the community, contribute in a positive way to community life, and achieve good health and wellbeing outcomes.
We provide a high quality supported living service in the Southbourne/Christchurch and Kings Park area. Our supported living homes are home to 45 people and each of them has a personalised support plan and dedicated 1:1 hours and each resident has a choice over what these dedicated hours are used for. We also have a residential living service at The Stables in Bisterne, Ringwood, which is home to eight residents. They also have a personalised support plan and dedicated 1:1 hours with choice over what these dedicated hours are used for. Both services are rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
People are the foundation of our society and we believe that everyone has a role to play in its success, and our commitment is to support people with learning disabilities to be recognised for their contribution.
Our vision is a world where people with a learning disability have the same rights as everyone else, have access to the same opportunities as everyone else and receive the support they need, in the way they need it, so that they can live happy, healthy, productive lives as independently as they can.
We believe that every person who uses our services should be supported to achieve their ambitions in a way that celebrates their individuality and uniqueness. Our person-centred approach is inclusive of all and gives our service users the skills and confidence to be ambitious and participate in new opportunities that broaden and enhance their lives.
Our core values and shared objectives are rooted in our belief that every person we support is a valuable member of our society and are equal to everyone else within it.

Respect – an environment where everyone is seen, heard and valued
