How We Maintain Quality
At SFHT we have a member of the Senior Leadership Team who is responsible for overseeing quality services across the organisation.
Our aim is to ensure that all the people using our services receive person centred support and that their rights, wishes and needs are maintained in a way that suits them as individuals.
Support plans are in place for each individual that uses our services and their views, wishes and opinions are reflected in how they wish to be supported in all areas of their life.
At SFHT we work within the following legislation:

Ensuring Quality of Staff
- All new staff members working in our Supported Lifestyles and Residential services will have to complete the Care Certificate which we aim to support them to complete within their first 3 months of employment.
- Face to face and distance inductions for all new starters followed by shadow shifts and in-service inductions
- Expertise through experience – existing staff members are available to mentor new staff in a wide range of relevant subjects including dementia, Makaton, easy read documentation, positive behavioural management, sexual relationships etc.
- All staff receive regular supervisions as well as an annual appraisal
- Opportunities to partake in developmental training as well as mandatory and statutory training.
- Team coordinators or managers are in place in each location and available to guide and support all staff members within that service
- A whistleblowing policy is in place to ensure that anyone can raise serious concerns safely and secure
Ensuring Quality of services
SFHT supported living and residential services are governed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and therefore adheres to their Key Lines Of Enquiry (KLOE) for adult social care services which are –

As well as CQC the local authorities carry out regular inspections of all SFHT services where all support, processes, and working practices are reviewed to ensure quality and safety.
Annual internal audits are performed in each service to ensure compliance in all areas and findings will be fed back to the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees for review. Any areas identified as requiring improvement will be given an action plan to put right any inconsistencies.
