On Tuesday 22nd July, we held our very first fundraising Golf Day at Remedy Oak Golf Club in Wimbourne, and what a stunning setting for a truly enjoyable day!
We had 14 teams of four people and the day began with bacon rolls and coffee before the teams headed out onto the course for the tee off!
The event was sponsored by TMA Building Services Ltd (pictured above), a fabulous construction company that we work with on many different construction and refurbishment projects across the Trust, and we are truly grateful for their continuing support. TMA Building Services Ltd were also the overall winners of the day, which was a great surprise for them, and it definitely wasn’t rigged!
At the end of play, all participants enjoyed a lovely dinner, alfresco, and we then held an auction of some really amazing prizes, all of which were bid for. We raised £6,369 on the day, and this goes into unrestricted funds that enable us to use the funds to support the general ongoing day-to-day work of the charity, including buying new equipment and providing new opportunities for our service users.
One of the teams sent this lovely message: “I wanted to express how much we enjoyed the day. It was fantastic in every aspect—great golf, a wonderful venue, delicious food, and delightful company. As hosts for the day, you and your team did an excellent job, especially considering it was your first time. Your efforts not only elevated the profile of the charity but also helped raise a significant amount of money. We are definitely looking forward to participating again next year!”
We will definitely be holding the event again next year and will be aiming for more teams to participate!
