residential living
Our residential flat at The Stables, Bisterne is where our charity started over 40 years ago. Situated in the beautiful grounds surrounding The Stables, residents have access to the Day Services programme there and at The Bradbury Centre and Gifted, along with access to other provision in the community. With 24 hour staff support, our residents each have a bespoke care and support plan that identifies all the different areas of their lives that they need support with, including managing their medication, and supporting them with any physical disabilities alongside their learning disability. The flat has eight residents, each with their own bedroom, with shared kitchen, bathroom and lounge. The main purpose is to support residents to continue living their lives as independently as they are able, with specialist wrap around care and support to ensure that they don’t become isolated and unable to participate within the wider community.
The Stables Flat has its own VW Caddy that enables the staff team to take residents out for their one to one activities and as a group, and there are regular trips to Moors Valley Country Park, Christchurch Priory, the New Forest for picnics and walks and to the beautiful coastal parts of the area right on our doorstep.
