On Saturday, 20th September, hundreds of people gathered to watch the fantastic and colourful Ringwood Carnival procession, which this year had over 80 entries!
The incredible effort made by so many local organisations was really heartening to see, and to see so many people from the local community all gathered together enjoying the event was inspiring, particularly in a time when we hear more and more about divided communities where some people are welcome and others are not so welcome anymore.
Alice in Wonderland Float
We entered a float with an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme, and the excitement at The Stables Day Services in the weeks leading up to the event was infectious and a joy to behold!
Our float won a Gold Certificate, which was well deserved. The amazing commitment of our staff team, who worked so hard to involve our service users in the behind-the-scenes preparation and then supported them to participate in the event, paid off – well done to everyone involved!

Special Thanks
A special thank you to Christina McManus, our Music and Dance Instructor, who was the brains behind the project – a wonderful end result that was much enjoyed by all the staff and service users who took part, despite the relentless rain throughout the procession!
We would also like to thank our friends at Amberwood House Care Home, who kindly created the beautiful decorative papier-mâché cakes for our float. Their creativity and generosity added the perfect finishing touch to our ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme and helped bring the magic of the story to life.
Looking Ahead
Plans are already afoot for Ringwood Carnival 2026!
