Residential Living
Our residential flat at The Stables, Bisterne was the first service offered, over 45 years ago. Situated in the beautiful grounds surrounding The Stables, residents can participate in the day services activity programme on site and they also have opportunities to go to our other day service sites, and participate in other community-based activities.
24 hour support
With 24 hour staff support, our residents each have a bespoke care and support plan that identifies all the different areas of their lives that they need support with, including managing their medication, and supporting them with any physical disabilities alongside their learning disability. The flat has eight residents, each with their own bedroom, with a shared kitchen, shared bathrooms and shared living room. We focus on supporting them to continue living their lives as independently as they can with specialist wrap around care and support to ensure that they live their lives to the full.
Each resident benefits from 1:1 dedicated support hours, which can be used by the resident how they choose. This might include a trip out somewhere or an opportunity to sit and play a game or watch a film of their choice. The service has its own dedicated vehicle that support workers use to take residents out for their 1:1 activities, or as a group to enjoy a day out together. There are regular trips to Moors Valley Country Park, Christchurch Priory, the New Forest for picnics and walks and to the beautiful coastal parts of the area right on our doorstep.
